Born into a Sicilian family with more than 300 years of winemaking history, Alessio Planeta first rose to prominence with his release of the Planeta Chardonnay in 1995.
The wine helped establish a global reputation for Sicilian wine, and Planeta now runs seven wineries in the region, which are focused on sustainable agriculture and cultural experiences. Most recently, his influence on the industry was recognized with the 2023 Wine Star Award for Winemaker of the Year from Wine Enthusiast.
Planeta will visit the Club for an enlightening culinary experience where diners can enjoy a multicourse meal (see menu below) paired with a variety of Planeta wines. During the dinner, he will share insights from his years in the industry.
