Traditional Sweets and Tea Ceremony

Delve into the mouthwatering world of traditional Japanese confectionery.

During this culinary workshop, students learn how to make nerikiri wagashi, the sweets that are typically served to accompany matcha green tea during Japanese tea ceremony.

Students will craft three versions of this seasonal confection made of sweet white bean paste and glutinous mochi rice flour, used as a binding ingredient.

One they will enjoy with a bowl of matcha after learning how to make and drink the iconic, frothy beverage while the other two can be shared with family at home.

All the ingredients used in this class are plant-based and oil-free.
